Piney Woods Resilience Fellowship

The Burrow Nature Center (BNC) is launching the Piney Woods Resilience Fellowship. We are seeking young adults to join our upcoming fellowship at $15/hour to learn valuable hands-on career skills.

BNC is a 111-acre living laboratory located outside of Lumberton. Our mission centers on children's and adult education as well as active longleaf pine savanna restoration, regenerative agroforestry, and community resilience.


What students will contribute to and learn:

Pine Savanna Restoration: Prescribed fire, endangered species, tree thinning, and more

Regenerative Agriculture: Conservation grazing with goats, mushroom logs, intensive grow beds, irrigation

Green Infrastructure: Sawmilling, off-grid solar and rainwater catchment, greenhouse construction, native plant nursery management

Job Readiness: Small business logistics, entrepreneurship, funding sources.
