Applications Close: June 10, 2026 | 5 PM ET

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Gulf Research Program (GRP), in partnership with NOAA’s Office of Education, is now accepting applications for a funding opportunity focused on place-based education. This opportunity supports projects that educate community members about local environmental challenges, engage learners in solutions-oriented activities, and encourage participants to take action to strengthen resilience in Gulf Coast communities.

Place-based education can help communities address environmental challenges and strengthen resilience.

The GRP is awarding up to $6M to support projects that educate community members about local environmental issues, engage learners in solutions-oriented activities, and encourage participants to take action in their communities. Applications are open through June 10, 2026.
